Privacy Policy

Effective September 23, 2026

What changed on September 23, 2026: the list of third-party services in Section 3 was corrected against the app’s own code. Two providers we have never called were removed — Deepgram and Open-Meteo. Five that do receive data were added — OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Google Weather, Google Maps and Vercel — along with Picovoice, which is present in the app but switched off. We also now state what each service receives, that our use of Supabase is two separate projects, and that the text of your voice question is sent to Anthropic. The previous version was effective August 18, 2026.

Lemmings, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Master Caddies mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

  • Player Profile: Name, skill level, shot shape, ball flight, miss tendency, and scoring goal you provide during onboarding.
  • Club & Bag Data: Club types and yardage distances you enter for caddie recommendations.
  • Location Data: GPS coordinates used in real time to calculate yardages to greens, hazards, and approach distances. Position data recorded during a round is saved with your round history and may be synced to our servers so your rounds are available across your devices. We do not track your location when you are not in an active round.
  • Voice Data: Audio recordings when you use the voice question feature. Recordings are sent to our speech-to-text provider for transcription and are not retained as audio after processing. The resulting text — your question and the caddie's answer — is saved with your round so you can review it afterward, and is used to diagnose and improve the App.
  • Scorecard Data: Scores, putt counts, fairways hit, and hazard counts you enter during a round.
  • Course Scorecards: Photographs of a golf course's published scorecard, submitted to improve our course data. These are uploaded to our servers and retained as course reference data. They are not associated with your round history.
  • Photos: With your permission, the App saves scorecard images to your device's photo library. We request add-only access — we cannot read, upload, or view any other photos in your library.
  • Device & Usage Data: Device type, operating system, app version, and general usage patterns to improve app performance.
  • Diagnostic Data: Crash reports and error diagnostics, including device model, operating system version, and app state at the time of an error.
  • Payment Data: Purchases made in the App are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never receive your payment card details. Purchases made on our website are processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers, CVV codes, or full payment details on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide personalized caddie briefings based on your skill level and playing style
  • Calculate live GPS yardages during your round
  • Process voice questions and deliver AI-generated caddie responses
  • Generate post-round analysis and scoring insights
  • Create shareable scorecards
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Improve app performance and fix bugs
  • Communicate with you about your account or the App

3. Third-Party Services

These are the outside services the App sends data to, what each one is for, and what it receives.

  • OpenAI: Speech-to-text. Receives the audio recording of each voice question, sent from your device.
  • Anthropic (Claude): Caddie answers, hole briefings, and round analysis. Receives your transcribed question along with the course, hole, distances, conditions, your club distances, and your handicap.
  • Inworld AI: Text-to-speech. Receives the caddie’s answer text, which restates your question.
  • ElevenLabs: Text-to-speech, used in place of Inworld depending on the voice. Receives the same answer text.
  • Google Weather: Wind, temperature, and conditions for shot calculations. Receives your precise location and the time.
  • Google Maps: Map rendering and map services on Android. Receives your location and map viewport.
  • Apple Maps: Satellite imagery for hole maps. Receives your location and map viewport.
  • Supabase:We use two separate Supabase projects. The first holds your account and round data: your profile, rounds, scores, voice transcripts, the GPS track of your round, feedback you send, and purchase records. The second holds our course database and receives only course identifiers and course search terms — nothing about you.
  • Vercel: Hosts our own capture endpoints. Receives scorecard photographs you submit, course identifiers, and cached caddie audio.
  • Sentry: Crash and error reporting. Receives stack traces; we have personal data reporting switched off, and the breadcrumbs it keeps are limited to tags, statuses, and counts.
  • Apple: In-app purchases, subscription management, and Sign in with Apple. Receives your purchase transactions and Apple ID identity.
  • Stripe: Payment processing for purchases made on our website. Receives payment data; we do not store card details.
  • Picovoice:Wake-word detection. Not switched on in the current release. When it is running it receives licence validation only — no audio leaves your device.

Each of these services processes data under its own privacy policy. We send the minimum each one needs to do its job.

4. Data Storage & Security

Most of your data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. Round history and profile data may be synced to our cloud servers (hosted by Supabase) to enable cross-device access.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at info@followrover.com.

Voice recordings are transcribed in real time and are not stored as audio after transcription; the resulting text is retained with your round history.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of data processing for marketing purposes
  • Export your data in a portable format

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the App with an updated effective date.
